Reporting to the Director of Nursing, your duties will include; the day-to-day management of the Health Information Services department comprising of 8 staff, ensuring that all clinical documents are available to all staff, the review, update and management of medical records and ensuring they meet Australian health standards, managing and providing leadership and communication to the Health Records Department, the planning, facilitation, implementation and evaluation of Quality Improvement, Accreditation and Best Practice programs, the facilitation of internal and external audits, the management of the release of information under the Freedom of Information and Privacy Acts, management of the department budgets as directed by the CFO and other duties as requested.

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Health Information Management (mandatory), an understanding of current Clinical Coding applications as well medical terminology, advanced level Excel skills, experience in the use of a Patient Management System, proven experience in Health Information in a hospital setting, and strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven experience in the application of Casemix in a Health Care environment will also be highly desirable.
